AI for Busy English Teachers

Practical Strategies That Actually Save Time

This 45-minute workshop is designed for middle and high school English teachers who want practical, realistic ways to use AI to streamline planning, reduce busywork, and create stronger classroom materials without losing their own voice or professional judgment.

Participants will explore how AI can support everyday ELA tasks such as lesson planning, creating learning targets, differentiating instruction, building vocabulary activities, generating discussion questions, designing rubrics, writing parent communication, and creating engaging classroom resources in minutes instead of hours.

The session focuses on real classroom examples from an experienced ELA teacher and emphasizes efficiency, balance, and sustainability rather than “doing more.” Teachers will leave with immediately usable strategies, sample prompts, workflow ideas, and a clearer understanding of how AI can support authentic literacy instruction while protecting teacher time and energy.

Topics May Include:

  • Using AI to draft lesson plans and agendas
  • Creating standards-aligned learning objectives quickly
  • Building Canvas quizzes and Gimkit vocabulary games
  • Generating discussion questions and writing prompts
  • Simplifying rubric creation and feedback
  • Designing engaging classroom visuals and stations
  • Streamlining parent emails and classroom communication
  • Supporting differentiation and student choice
  • Using AI ethically and thoughtfully in the ELA classroom

Perfect For:

  • Middle school ELA teachers
  • High school English teachers
  • Instructional coaches
  • Teachers new to AI tools

Teachers will leave with practical tools they can implement immediately to make planning more efficient and teaching more manageable.
